Amazing dinner! The service was excellent and the food was so flavorful. New favorite spot. The corn was the best thing ever, so delicious. Our drinks were strong and had interesting flavors. The salt rim was so good. The indoor decor was also so cute, loved the bright colors and lighting.
I love their ashy guacamole And the burritos are great The service is excellent and in the back the bar room is cozy and inviting
We were able to get a quick table and had great service from friendly bilingual staff on a weekday evening. We didn't know what to expect from this little neighborhood-sized place, and were so happy to find a spot we'd love to go back to. We ordered drinks, apps, entrees, and sides, and were happy with everything, which isn't always easy with a critical SO. The chicharron taco was pretty incredible, the chicharron itself really crispy and tasty, and I am not a chicharron person in the least. The mole verde with succulent chicken was something else, spicy and flavorful. My SO is ready to make another trip to NYC just for the food and the Nintendo store. Way to go, guys, you're doing great things!
The place was fine. The food was good. The drinks were good. It has a nice vibe. It's a small, cute place. While the food was good, the physical environment felt kinda uncomfortable. I get it's a small space, but the tables were very close and people walking through kept bumping into other tables, etc. It kinda distracted from the experience. So, I would say this would be a fine place to come with friends, but I dunno if it's the place to take grandma and grandpa for a meal. That being said, everything about this place was fine. If you're in the neighborhood, it's a good place to visit. I dunno if I would say you need to travel cross town to come here, though.
Came for dinner with a friend and had an awesome meal here! I tried: + Jamaicon cocktail + Chicken flautas + Ceviche of the day + Pork belly chicharron tacos + Yaka-tinga + Tres leches Cocktail was solid. The food highlights were the flautas and yaka-tinga (jackfruit tacos). Pork belly tacos were also really good. Service was friendly, too. One of the best new additions to the area in years!
Stopped by for an early dinner before a show at the Beacon. Everything was delicious and I'd definitely go back before a show. Pros: quick service delicious food - I had the chicken flautas, guacamole, and a margarita and my friend had the enchilada We enjoyed everything and the waiters were attentive. Guacamole is on the creamier side if that matters to you. Definitely plan on going again.
Probably a 4.5/5. Guacamole (4/5) - Delicious but standard, nothing too special. The chips are crispy, a good salty - overall a wonderful base. The guacamole is so refreshing and creamy, and has a slight tanginess and onions providing a nice crunch and sharpness. Crispy enoki tacos (5/5) - The best taco of the night with the most surprising flavors. The crispy enoki is light but savory, and the batter bursts with umami flavor. The pickled red onion elevates the taco to the next level, adding a sweet and tangy element to the dish. There was a tiny bit of sauce at the bottom of the taco and a slightly spicy and sour salsa, but it would have been nice to have a proper sauce on the taco to make it more juicy. Pork belly tacos (5/5) - Another favorite of the night. The pork belly was so crispy with the perfect fattiness, so savory and succulent. The garnishes were refreshing to balance the pork belly. Again it would have been nice to have a proper sauce on the taco rather than just the conventional salsa. Beef barbacoa taco (4.5/5) - The roasted beef shank is so rich and flavorful, it is cooked til tender and dripping with juices and sauce. The beans and garnishes were decent and building your own taco was pretty fun. The avocado added a creaminess, delightful! Quesabirria (4/5) - This was good, the beef had decent flavor and the quesadilla shell was crunchy. The birria made the quesadilla more juicy, but the birria wasn't as particularly rich and flavorful as it should be.
